FRIENDSHIP

Our empowering sisterhood and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion make Omega Phi Alpha a tight-knit and supportive community. Throughout the year, we engage in various activities to strengthen our sisterhood. During our events, we can connect with all sorority members, create a family away from home, and empower each other to grow and prosper in all walks of life.

Friendship is one of our core principles, and we celebrate it in many ways. One way is having sisterhood events ranging from pumpkin/apple picking, beach trips, wellness hikes, game/movie nights, or Froyo Fridays. These events are open to all sisters and are a great way to get to know one another during the school year. Another way is through our bi-annual sisterhood retreats, which occur once per semester. During our retreats, our sorority will participate in an all-hands service project and engage in team-building activities to encourage bonding with all of our sisters.

Sisterhood and friendship are also incorporated into Omega Phi Alpha through our Big/Little program. Our sorority has six families, which continues to grow from our Founding Class to our current New Member class. Active sisters can "pick up" a New Member as their "little sister" and act as their mentor within the chapter. Every new member will become part of her big sister’s family. Our families do everything we can to ensure our new sisters feel welcome.
